Calvin Klein & Lara Stone

We are impressed by the new Calvin Klein FW10 collection. Minimalistic chic, definitely Less is More… And what to think of Lara Stone: strong as ever, great androgene appearance. Another Dutchy to be proud of.

Calvin Klein started in the late sixties with a coat collection, but soon included a broad range of womens / mens wear, sports wear (CK), fragrances and not the least: Haute Couture.

Advertising was the key to his success by creating controversy.  We remember (Yes, we do. Ai, getting old)  Brooke Shields  at age 15,  featuring his first tv commercial wearing a dark straight leg  jeans and a men’s shirt. She whispers: “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing”.

Dior & Christian Louboutin in Arabic signs…

Don’t you think it looks quite stylish? Overwhelming big designer stores in UAE. Véronique is working from the middle-east. With laptop in the sun… Where would we be without Wifi?
Checking out the new designer collections. Impressed by all the beautiful stylish arabic ladies wearing red soles under their long black silk abayas.  Would have been a great picture. Waiting for a photo opportunity…

Shop-for-a-week : stylish pop-up store!

We visited the unique shop-for-a-week concept store located in the midst of the Amsterdam Red Light district. Founded by Ueli Signer and Florian Seyd. Held two times a year on different locations, it’s a wunderkammer filled with exotic flowers, unique objects and art pieces by Klaus Dupont.

We really had to restrain ourselves. Bought a magnificent Madagascar butterfly. Received a cute gift of sweet smelling white Equadorian roses. Thank you!

Store available from 15 – 24th october.
Oudezijds Voorburgwal 153 | Amsterdam.

Go see!

We Love

Great exhibition of dutch Fashion Illustrator PIET PARIS.

We love the Artwork & Sale exhibition of Piet Paris in Amsterdam. Not only his new book of illustrations, that contains more than 100 illustrations, but also indivuals pieces are for sale. We want one!

Just recently Piet Paris created a magnificent background for Viktor & Rolf RTW2011 show @ PFW.

Viktor & Rolf: “Piet was one of our teachers at the art academy. We immediately thought of him for this season’s show, because of the graphic, crisp and colourful nature of the collection. His work is very graphic and sometimes borders on the abstract, but is also always extremely fashionable. We love the modern tension of that. We admire him for his authentic style, and it was a great pleasure to work with him.”

Exhibition one week only: from 15 – 22 oct. Hirsch Building, Leidseplein. Amsterdam.
