We’re suckers for Chanel no. 5. And Chanel no. 5 commercials. We can’t get enough of the oh so beautiful Audrey Tautou who features in this mini movie.  Shot and directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet. The romance, the jumpsuit, the man, the leica and the scenery. And let’s not forget about the the music by Billy Holiday (“I’m a fool to want you”).  All melts into one. Drool.

All we want for X-mas is…

X-mas is around the corner. So it seems. Mentally we are still living as if it’s the end of the month September… Working 24/7 on our Luxury platform and more. Realitycheck! It is time to release the blingbling from their boxes, decorate the house and start shopping for our loved ones. Last minute, offcourse. Luckely we can build on very long last-minute-shopping-experience, efficient and swift are our middles names. What we would like to see in our X-mas stockings? 1. A Bag

The colour, the leather, the woven surface and last but certainly not least: the plain model. This bag is great in all it’s simplicity.

2. A Book

5. A Scarf

If we say scarf, we say Hermès. This is the Big One… 140 x 140 in cashmere silk blend. And the name!

And the winner is…

Ja, ik ben er eigenlijk wel zo’n beetje uit. Ik wol ‘m. Ik wol ‘m. Ik wol ‘m. Nog één week en dan ga ik met pijn in mijn hart ‘mijn’ RéAura inpakken, strik erom doen en terugsturen naar Philips.  Dit was wat je noemt een welkome gast.

Ik heb 8 weken lang 3 delen (gezicht, hals en handen) behandeld. Elke zone 2 x per week. Dit was een straf regime maar hé, een test is pas een test al je er vol voor gaat. De eerste week was het even zoeken, maar al snel had ik een goed ritme te pakken:

Dag 1 – Gezicht (3 zones, wang rechts/wang links/voorhoofd)

Dag 2 – Hals (2 zones, links/rechts)

Dag 3 – Handen (2 zones, linkerhand en rechterhand)

Dag 4 – en op de plaats rust…

Dag 5 – Gezicht (3 zones, wang rechts/wang links/voorhoofd)

Dag 6 – Hals (2 zones, links/rechts)

Dag 7 – Handen (2 zones, linkerhand en rechterhand)

Als je all the way wilt gaan, zou kunnen natuurlijk, dan kun je op dag 4 nog je decolleté doen. Maar mij werd dat teveel.

Nog even samenvattend: huid goed schoonmaken, performance gel op de zone smeren en dan de RéAura haaks op je huid zetten en losse banen over de zone trekken. Het licht is groen, geeft aan dat je goed contact met de huid maakt, en je hoort een zoemend geluid. Des te langer je dit ononderbroken hoort, des te beter. Dit vond ik moeilijker als er meer bot onder zat, zoals bij het voorhoofd. Kreeg de tip van Philips (heel attent, ik werd gebeld over m’n ervaringen door Philips RéAura. Meisje wist niet dat ik een ‘testpersoon’ was) om dan met ellebogen op tafel te gaan zitten en alleen je hoofd bewegen. Handen stil houden. Dit hielp.

Voor mij werkte het goed om ‘s avonds ‘te laseren’ en onderwijl naar de tv te kijken. Zappen lukt dan overigens niet meer. Qua handen vol.  Naar mate je meer ervaren bent, gaat het allemaal sneller. Daarna het onvermijdelijke rode hoofd, maar dat was eigenlijk alleen de eerste week heftig en vervolgens heel goed te doen. Fijn dik invetten, goed inmasseren en oogjes toe. ‘s Ochtends was het bij mij altijd weg en zag m’n huid er goed doorbloed uit. Vooral voller.

Ik heb last van een kritisch inslag en wil graag snel resultaat zien. Anders is het me te veel moeite en haak ik af. Ik werd in deze op mijn wenken bediend, want heb nu:

1. een vollere huid

2. duidelijk minder fijne lijntjes

3. 80% minder ouderdomsvlekken!

Mijn conclusie is dat als je de discipline hebt om dit consequent vol te houden, dit een super apparaat is. Lekker thuis in je eigen omgeving, lounge wear aan met dikke cashmere sokken en go for it. Because we’re worth it.

YSL Mondriaan dress

Welcome to Amsterdam, YSL Mondriaan Dress!

Last week the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum bought the 1966 Mondriaan dress by Yves Saint Laurent on a auction at Christie’s London for 30.000 euro. Made of woollen tricot and inspired by the worldfamous minimalistic paintings of Piet Mondriaan. The form of dresses was slowly changing at that time (hello, the sixties!) from tailored into more ‘sacky’ designs. The planarity of the dress was an ideal field for primary colours, black lines and large colour blocks. Just like the flat planes of the canvases by the artist himself.

Yves Saint Laurent admired Mondriaan and owned 5 of his works. He once said: ‘Mondriaan is purity and one can go no further in purity in painting’.
