Our own Dutchie interior designer Eric Kuster is well known around the world by the R & F. He is the one who brought  glamour to many a living room. Or bathroom. Or bedroom. His signature is metropolitan luxury: earthy tones form the base with glossy black, rich fabrics and lots of black & white photos in black frames.

Eric just released his very first magazine Entourage. Or as he calls it A folded manifest on true style, as seen by the master of new luxury himself. Elegant yet edgy, bold but never plain. We love  the high quality paper and the large format. Cindy Crawford seems twice as beautiful. We do share some of his recommended style Essentiels. The Cartier Juste un Clou bracelet! Juste un clou: nail it!

Famous french jeweller Cartier is about to launch it's latest sturdy and stylish piece of jewelry, another stunning bracelet listening to the name Juste un Clou. Clou means nail in french and that's what it is: just a round nail bracelet. Designed in 1969 by  Aldo Cipullo, who also was the creative mastermind behind the iconic Cartier Love Bracelet.
Available in white, pink or yellow gold. With or without diamonds. Large or small model. There is a combination thinkable for us. Or two.

Romance & Cartier Jewelry

How do we like those two words… King of romance was definitely King Edward VIII from England who renounced the British trone in 1936 to marry his beloved Wallis Simpson. And not only that, he overloaded her with custommade jewelry. Mostly by Cartier. Rest our case.

On november 30, a fascinating auction will be held @ Sotheby’s London featuring this very exceptional collection. The jewels were displayed in various locations around the world for a preview. They’re now back in London as the auction approaches.

“The offering comprises incomparable examples of the genius of Cartier in collaboration with the Windsors,” says David Bennett, Chairman of Sotheby’s Jewelry. “The inscriptions tell the story of perhaps the greatest love story of the 20th century.”

The Telegraph reports that Madonna has already previewed the jewels. She is in the midst of creating a film about Wallis Simpson. This auction will probably have many famous people bidding for the spectacular items up for sale.

Late summer drinks.

Pleasant suprise to see Karin and her  Designer-Vintage quote in today’s newspaper, De Telegraaf.
Makes us smile! Great location, 5-star old world Amstel Hotel, great people and off course great bites. Three ingredients for a succesful informal gathering hosted by the hotel’s GM Nils Axing.

We had a lovely talk with Dutch Haute Couture designer Frans Molenaar who  spoke proudly of  his 90-th (!) Couture Show he hosted last week in this marvelous hotel. Look at his fashionable dogs!

Say-No-To-Fake Fashion Shoot for Grazia Magazine.

Ah! Did we have a great day in the studio. An all-girls-event. Together with Kayin (from Logomania) we joined forces to create awareness against fake designer pieces: Say No To Fake. Website is under construction and will be launched end of september. Grazia Magazine (dutch issue) supports  our cause and together we came up with a smashing photoshoot… We can’t reveal anything yet, but keep an eye on Grazia nr. 41 in october. Yesterday was d-day and the gals looked more than beautiful. Wearing FW10 designer pieces and… not much more… Many thanks to the team, lead by photographer Jo van den Assem.

Straight from Paris were all the FW10 designer pieces handpicked  by stylist Dineke van den Heuvel. Chanel. Prada. Christian Louboutin. Hermès. Cartier. Gucci.  Beertje fell instantely in love with tiger Loubs booties.
