Good Girls go Gucci

What do Blake Lively, Halle Berry and Zoe Saldana have in common, besides being annoyingly stunning? They are also good girls. That’s exactly why they are the new names to support Gucci’s Chime for Change campaign.
The actresses join existing ambassadors and co founders Beyoncé Carter-Knowles, Salma Hayek and Frida Giannini in a star studded video on Vogue.co.uk  where they declare that “anything is possible for women around the world”.
Gucci’s manifesto highlight “three of the most powerful tools a woman can have to help change the world: education, health and justice”.
And just to keep men in the loop too, they added a dash of Y chromosomes in the form of John Legend and Ziggy Marley. There is a lot to achieve before their dreams become reality – education, health and justice, that’s no simple wishlist – but it least they have our attention. Now let’s hope these videos will be watched, followed and lived by as much as we normally would with Gossip Girl. [EH]

Charlotte goes totally Gucci

More spring flowers… To anyone who has ever seen the face of the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, this will come as no surprise: Charlotte Casiraghi will be the face of Gucci’s new Forever Now ad campaign. For the third time that is.
The images include two intense portraits of Charlotte. In one she holds a foulard featuring Gucci’s Flora pattern and is inspired by a silk scarf that Rodolfo Gucci, son of founder Guccio Gucci (what’s in a name?) gave to Casiraghi’s grandmother Princess Grace of Monaco.
“The print holds special meaning to me – I first discovered the scarf when my mother and grandmother would wear theirs during my childhood in the seventies,” Frida Giannini, the house’s creative director said. “To me, the Flora print has become a symbol of the Gucci Woman’s effortless fusion of tradition and contemporary poise.”
And who better than Charlotte to give face to that nice combo? Exactly. [EH]
