Because stores and exhibitions of our favorite designer brands are popping up every day, we decided to highlight 3 of them that recently opened or are about to open it's doors.
1. Louis Vuitton X Exhibition in LA
Maybe not around the corner, but if you are planning to go to LA soon, then you should definitely visit the new Louis Vuitton X Exhibition. The exhibition presents 160 years of creative collaborations from the French fashion house. In a colorful setting in the middle of Rodeo Drive, visitors can view 180 items from the Louis Vuitton archives, including a unique collection of custom-made suitcases from the early 20th century. Also, the exhibition gives a sneak peak of the new "Artycapucines" line, in which the classic Capucines handbag has received a makeover from six contemporary artists: Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self and Jonas Wood. The exhibition can be visited until the 15th of September and is completely free.
2. Opening Fendi café in London
A little bit closer to home, London to be precise, a complete Fendi-themed café has opened it's doors! Untill the end of August, you can visit a summer pop-up entirely in Fendi style on the ground and the fifth floor of the London luxury department store Harrods. Enjoy a nice cappuccino and cookie with the logo of the Italian fashion house, surrounded by a complete collection of Fendi Peekaboo bags in all colors and sizes. In addition to a series of Peekaboo's, there are more iconic bags from the fashion house displayed. And rumour has it that American illustrator Joshua Vides, who is responsible for the interior on the ground floor, designed a special edition of the Peekaboo-bag, exclusively available at Harrods.
3. Launch of Gucci's first high jewelry line: Hortus Deliciarum in Paris
Last but not least, the first high jewelry boutique of Gucci. The store is located on Place Vendôme, the epicenter of high-quality jewelry. The new high-end jewelry line consists of more than 200 different one-of-a-kind jewelry. The items are inspired by the poetic and kaleidoscopic universe of Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele. The inside of the boutique is just as impressive as the jewelry. The interior consists of cabinets of black painted wood and are finished with Verde Acqua satin and large antique mirrors. The floor has a monochrome mosaic design consisting of Nero Marquina and Thassos marble. The design of the boutique is completely coordinated to make the colorful jewelry stand out.
4. Re-opening Hermès Store in Amsterdam
After the 'crystal house' for Chanel, architecture firm MVRDV built a (equally stunning) Hermès store in the PC Hoofdstraat in Amsterdam. The special building with glass bricks was initially intended for Chanel. The front of the store has a kind of dip dye effect. The terracotta bricks of the historic architecture at the top have been preserved, where they overflow into glass bricks. The 'crystal home' for luxury fashion was intended to highlight Amsterdam as a place where luxury fashion houses fit, while maintaining the age-old character of the city. Inside you can expect 294 square meters of clothing, accessories and beauty products from Hermès, surrounded by the iconic Hermès ex-libris mosaic pattern and tones of bronze. The wooden staircase in the middle of the store, almost a sculpture, is a striking element in the space and makes the experience complete.
