Masterclass: Balenciaga Triple S Sneakers

One of the latest trends spotted in the fashion scene is the “ugly dad sneaker” trend. You know, these shoes with the chunky and futuristic looking soles which your dad always wore to your hockey matches on the Sunday mornings? Well, these “ugly” shoes, which were super popular in the 90’s, are back and better than ever!

Triple-stacked soles
Various Designers under which Louis Vuitton, Prada and Dior have brought this trend back to life, but the most dominating dad sneaker at the moment is Balenciaga’s Triple S sneaker. The Balenciaga Triple S sneakers debuted on the runway during the Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection. It features a retro-inspired design with its signature triple-stacked sole. This triple-stacked sole of course inspired the name of the sneaker. The sneaker is basically a combination of running, basketball and track racer outsoles.

Various colours and materials
The first Triple S sneakers are made of traditional mesh and nubuck paneling for an off-white based upper with soft pink, yellow, red and black shade accents. The shoelaces are two-toned and you can find the brand’s name in bold letters on the sides. Also your shoe size can be found on the nose of the sneakers. Some people hate it, some people love it! The highlight of these sneakers are of course the signature triple-stacked soles. They are available in many different colour combinations and the brand has even updated the sneaker for spring ’18 with new colours and materials.

How to wear these “ugly” sneakers?
Because the sneakers look quite brushy, people don’t really know how to wear them. But believe me, it’s easier than you think. These sneakers look amazing under a pair of straight leg jeans and an oversized sweater, but can also be worn with a pair of skinny jeans or even a Carrie Bradshaw type of skirt. Are you looking for a pair of Balenciaga Triple S sneakers? Take a look on our platform because once in a while, these super popular sneakers are being sold on our website!
