In the past decade we have seen many interesting and beautiful bags. Consider, for example, the mini bags from Jacquemus that didn't even fit an AirPod, the shopping bag from Chanel in 2014 or the oversized bag trend of 2017. We therefore are very curious about what this year will bring us. We will see these 3 bag trends everywhere in the coming year. Spoiler alert: simplicity is key.

1. Puffy like a pillow

We owe this new trend to the new creative director of Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee. Daniel has transformed Bottega Veneta and a real Bottega Veneta madness has arisen. His major impact caused a huge change in accessories in which we saw different shapes and volumes. In his version we see a new version of a clutch, which actually looks like a pillow. We see the puffy bags in various materials such as leather and canvas, in mainly soft and earthy colors.

2. The pouch clutch

Mini bags seemed to be an essential part of fashion in 2019, but this year we will see the pouch clutch instead. The pouch clutch was also on seen a lot in 2019, and will continue in 2020. The well-known Bottega Veneta leather pouch is the most popular pouch, but other designers have also launched the pouch in various shapes and sizes. The pouch is normally seen as an evening bag, but this version is much more a daily bag. Because it looks simple and can be worn with many different outfits.

3. The hobo bag 2.0

If clutches and mini bags are not your thing, the hobo bag is definitely yours. The hobo bag is known for its "slouchy" appearance and is back again this year. Large comfy straps and always enough space for all your belongings. We are in happy to see this bag back again! The hobo bag 2.0 is large, minimalistic and this time comes in various shapes and structures. We saw a huge amount of the leather hobo bag, especially during Copenhagen Fashion Week RTW. We are a fan.

The bag trends this year are back to basics which we love. Which bag is your favourite?
