The country of Aphrodite and Hermes (no not the bags, the son of Zeus) offers so much more then economical crisis and annoying ministers. The Island is filled with a lot of white, turquoise and purple colours and has beautiful villages near the coast, Since it’s school holidays we travelled to the Greek island of Creta.
Villa Ippocampi is everything I wish for in a holiday accommodation. The hotel is only half an hour from Heraklion airport and just 10 minutes away from the beach. It offers (Greek) breakfast and lunch on the terrace under the lemon treas and a perfect size pool to entertain the kids all day. Our penthouse, overlooking the sea, has a white hammock and at night the whole terrace is lit by star shaped candles. Sounds idyllic don’t you think?
Although I don’t think Crete is thé place to go to for the next hip and happening restaurants we found a few. Try restaurant Atrium. Authentic food without the menu card with pictures not far from the hotel. Or Karavi, an all white beach club for your holiday dose of awesome cocktails. Happy holidays!
