A new take on Louis Vuitton’s Boîte Chapeau Souple

It’s hard to remember a time where Louis Vuitton’s Boîte Chapeau Souple did not concur the fashion world. The bag launched almost two years ago and has been loved amongst fans ever since. The Boîte Chapeau model winks at Louis Vuitton’s traditional history of trunkmaking. If you take a close look at the bag’s round high form and its luggage-like detailing it does remind us of a classic hatbox. Thank you Louis Vuitton or Nicolas Ghesquière for creating a flat-sided base on the round form (when the bag still manages to roll off the table, I guess it’s your own fault...)

The Boîte Chapeau Souple’s predecessor is the Petite Boîte Chapeau, which was found a little impractical because of its small size. But as the The Boîte Chapeau Souple’s is quite popular, easy, and effortless to wear, the model has been reinvented a couple of times already. For example, it relaunched in the embossed patent monogram and during the LVxLOL capsule.

And now a new relaunch, the Boîte Chapeau Souple in Monogram Empreinte (just what we need). This type of leather is known for its soft, pleasant feel and not to forget: it’s lasting quality. The lasting quality mainly arises because of the fact that grained leather is quite resistant to scratches. Inside you can also find a small slit pocket to hold your items with extra care. I’m not sure if you can actually fit a hat, but for sure you can store a lot of other things in this 22.5 cm by 20 cm beauty.
