The Rockstuds were born
In 2010, the new design duo at Valentino: Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli made a real statement when they surprised the crowd at their Paris runway show, pairing elegant little dresses with the edgy Rockstud heels. The heels were much lower than the norm at that time. In 2010 the fashion crowd was smitten with extremely high, sculptural heels with a platform.
Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli said the Rockstud heels have made an immediate impact after the company first introduced the design back in 2010. They were surprised by the huge interest in the Rockstud heels, that continues even today, six years later. Since the Rockstud heels were introduced in 2010, Valentino’s sales have more than doubled.
The sizing of the shoes can vary depending on the feet of the wearer. If you have narrow feet, you should take your normal shoe size as they generally run true to size but if you have wider feet it is best to order half a size up.
Initially, the Rockstuds heels were introduced in a few basic colors: light pink, beige and black. Ever since their arrival they have been reworked in several different colors and prints from camo print to bold patent leather. They also come in different heel heights. From 7 mm to 100 mm.
