Paris Fashion Week always causes a lot of excitement, as the most desired designers show their newest collections. The Saint Laurent show is no exception, as many tense faces stared down the catwalk to see what the brand has to offer for coming season. This season the reveal was extra special, as Anthony Vaccarello made his big debut as creative director. And lovers of old school YSL could rejoice as the show contained a lot of nod's to the original YSL designs.
First things first, the old logo is back! It was disastrous for YSL lovers when Hedi Slimane banished 'Yves' from the name and removed the 'Y' from the logo. Hedi wanted to create a new era, by renaming the brand Saint Laurent. Not a good move, as many admirers were really upset. You can imagine the happiness from the Yves aficionado's, when a huge lighted YSL logo was suspended outside the shows' venue. Another extremely cute touch, were the YSL sticky glitter tattoo's, that adorned the legs of many models.
It was clearly visible that a lot op inspiration was drawn from previous shows and original designs. We saw some updated 'Le Smoking' suits and a lot of stiletto's, who most definitely stole the show. The ones with the feathery detail in metallics are gorgeous, but the YSL logo stiletto was the uncrowned queen fo the shoe. The body of the shoe is pretty, but the logo heel is what really makes our hearts skip a beat. We can't wait to get our hands on them!
