Vuitton discontinues Multicolore line

17 July 2015

Louis Vuitton is discontinuing their Takashi Murakami Multicolore Monogram collection. The French fashion house started the collaboration with Takashi Murakami, a Japanese artist, back in 2003. At this time, Marc Jacobs was still at the head of Louis Vuitton. Its new main man, Nicolas Ghesquière, has pulled the stops on the multicolored line and was unavailable for commentary. He did state that the label ‘wants to look to the future.’

Paris Hilton & Kim Kardashian
The Multicolore collection was favorited by Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian and saw a peak in popularity during the boho trend in 2003 and 2004. Remember? When the Mischa Bartons and the Lindsay Lohans of the world had their moment.

Immediate stop
The colorful bags will unfortunately be removed from all the Louis Vuitton boutiques and the production of the bags will stop without delay. Are you a fan of the Multicolore bags? You will aways find pre-owned-with-love Multicolore bags on Designer-Vintage, so let's not get too emotional. After all vintage bags are a great way to do some eco-chic recycling
