The brothers Wertheimer, who are both large shareholders of the fashion house, bought a vineyard last month. The St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery is situated in the Napa Valley in the states, and as you can see it is a sight for sore eyes. The duo will not be using the Chanel logo on the bottle or connect their winery directly to the French label, but have purchased the property soley because of they're passion for wine. The brothers Wertheimer already have two other vineyards in France. These are Château Rauzen-Ségla and Margaux and Châtheau Canon. The new vineyard is their third and we wouldn’t be surprised if they buy a fourth one.
Chanel & Wine
Even though the new winery won't be new venture of the Chanel brand, it seems that wine has always played a part in the heritage of the brand. As legend goes, the interlocing CC's in the label's famous logo was inspired by the lead glass windows at Château de Crémat in Frankrijk, where Coco herself spent a lot of her time.
