The 2.55 has become one of the most well loved accessories because of its classic design and outstanding quality. Style Republic gives us a glimp behind the scenes and reveals the 15 steps behind the manufacturing of the world's greatest bag!

Coco Chanel's vision
Gabrielle Chanel intended her accessories to be both practical and sensible. To her, the accessories embodied luxury and elegance. A vision that hasn't changed till this day, even with the revolutionary Karl Lagerfeld now at the helm of the French fashion house. When mademoiselle Chanel began to design the classic bag, she strove for functionality. For this reason, the bag showcases a double flap which has a zip-fastened pocket inside it, intended as a secret place for storing a love letter or blank notes. On the inside of the bag there are three bellow pockets, also meant to store a lady’s necessities like lipstick.

Chanel's iconic quilted leather
To give the 2.55 some body, Gabrielle invented the now famous quilted diamond pattern, which gives the bag its characteristic 'puffiness'. Nowaways, This intricitate stitching is made by a machine, as you could never never achieve the fine execution of a Chanel bag with actual hand-stitching. Every bag is made with meticulous care, from the first to the last step.
